Reefjet

Reefjet, the newest addition to the day charter fleet at Airlie Beach, is arguably the fastest vessel of its type and size servicing the Outer Great Barrier Reef Market.

Reefjet's 3 (three) massive 660 horsepower engines allow a faster trip to the outer Reef - just 75 minutes - allowing visitors more time to explore the wonders of this unique eco-system.

Snorkelling, diving, swimming or just lazing about on the sundeck are all on offer.  And if it gets too hot, you can retire to the air-conditioned comfort of the cabin area.

Also enjoy the on board shop, where you can buy light refreshments and Reefjet clothing.

Whether you just want a relaxing swim in crystal clear tropical waters or to try your hand at snorkelling under expert supervision, you can experience it all at your own pace. We offer free tuition for first time snorkellers.  Onboard Reefjet, snorkelling is a major activity.  Our experienced crew are on hand to brief and explain water conditions and current flows as well as to point out various marine life and coral formations.

Snorkelling on board Reefjet is done in an open environment, you are free to snorkel wherever you like without the confines of roped off areas. Our expert snorkel team will do a snorkel plan best suited to your experience.

Floatation devices such as snorkel vests and high density metre long noodles are available for your comfort and assistance.

Of course, your safety and enjoyment is our priority.  A full-time deck watch (lifeguard) is on duty to ensure your day is an enjoyable one.  A snorkelling safety brief is conducted on our journey to the Outer Great Barrier Reef.

First time snorkellers

On board Reefjet, our friendly snorkel and dive instructors are experienced in introducing the fun and excitement of snorkelling for the very first time to our guests.  We devote the time to ensure you feel comfortable and safe in the water.  We also have a range of floatation devices to ensure your day is safe and enjoyable and we give special attention to those who feel the need for extra tuition.

It's important to us that your day on the Outer Great Barrier Reef is a most enjoyable and memorable snorkelling experience.  Your personal safety is also paramount.

Snorkelling tuition on the correct use of fins (flippers) and mask (goggles) as well as the snorkel is conducted on our journey to the Outer Great Barrier Reef.  All tuition and recommendations are done in accordance with the PADI snorkelling standards worldwide.

Snorkelling Safari

On board Reefjet, it doesn't matter whether you're an experienced snorkeller or snorkelling for the very first time.  We encourage you to book a Snorkelling Safari with one of our qualified, friendly and experienced instructors.

Not only do you get to see the magnificent marine life on the Outer Great Barrier Reef, you also get to experience and hear our marine experts talk and explain the ecosystem of the Great Barrier Reef and show you its abundant inhabitants.

You'll also get to touch and feel some of these beautiful and unique creatures in their natural environment and with the added advantage of having the keen eye of our marine experts, you will be more likely to come face to face with a Greenback Turtle, a large metre long Maori Wrasse, schools of Coral Trout, Giant Trevally and many other species of fish, not to mention and get to know the vast array of hard and soft coral formations as well as the many crustaceans.  If you don't want to see a shark, our dive instructors will tell you when to close your eyes.

The Eco Learn & Touch Experience of our Snorkelling Safari is the highlight of the day for many of our snorkellers and for the small charge of $AUD15.00 (this cost is additional to the Cruise price) the experience should not be missed.
